Covelandia du Labrador
Wednesday, May 17, 2006

My kids just love swimming very much so that before the summer vacation ends and before the rainy season begins we decided to go swimming again. Since May 14 was Mother's Day, we thought it was a perfect day for our plan. And it really was! This time we decided to go to Tobuan, Labrador, Pangasinan to see for ourselves what our friends have been telling us about Covelandia du Labrador Family Beach Resort. True's really amazing!

The entrance fee is very reasonable at Php 150 per head for adults and Php 100 per head for kids. Since we plannned to stay there the whole day we rented a cottage for Php 700. They also have picnic tables that can be rented for a lesser price. If you plan to go overnight they have hotel rooms also at very affordable prices. They have function rooms for parties and lectures. For entertainment they have basketball court, tennis court, and ping-pong table that could be rented at Php 100 per hour.

In the left photo is the adult pool with the slides above it. The right photo is the kiddie pool. On the right side of the kiddie pool are the cottages fronting the beach area. Food can be cooked in the cottage area. Each cottage is provided with barbeque grill and there are kitchen sinks constructed near the cottages. Allowing food to be brought inside the resort is the main difference with other family resorts that we have visited. Although all families enjoy cooking their own food, this is also the means by which the pools can get dirty. There aren't so much guard around to prevent food from being brought into the pool area so that some of kids throw in some bits of food in the pool while they are playing and eating at the same time. I can say that during our stay there the kiddie pool is dirty.

After having enjoyed swimming in the pool and in the beach, at around 1:00 pm I decided to shower. While inside the shower area suddenly there was no water coming out of the shower! I stayed inside for at least an hour waiting for the water but there was only water coming out of the faucet. I looked around and saw a plastic cup which I used to pour water to my soap-filled body. It took me so long inside the shower room that my husband was too worried while waiting at the cottage. Can't the management inform their visitors that water is not available at certain hours of the day? Yes the place look so great but I think there is a need for more manpower in order to maintain cleanliness.... and please have enough water!

The first time i saw the place, sometime early this year, i felt serenity in it.
You can overlook a bunch of islands (which maybe part of the 100 islands) in its viewdeck. (oh! what a lovely sight",)
The family rooms were superb as well. It is clean and has a veranda where you can view people on the swimming pool and slides.
We stayed there for one whole day..its actualy an hour and a half drive from Dagupan City.Whats good also is that its near our tourist spot -- The Hundred Islands.
All i could say is that its all worth it..go check it out for yourself.

Yes, I agree with you that the place looks really great. If you will read again what i've written, I was complaining of the CR used by the people renting the cottages and tables. You might have missed it because you were in a hotel room which might have been better than renting a cottage. Besides, it was mother's day and there were so many people around. Cleanliness-wise, there are better resorts around.
