Sweet Tasting Pineapples!
Monday, September 25, 2006

You may think that a pineapple is an ordinary fruit. It is found in the market, in the grocery, in sidewalks, and it is even sold by peddlers. Some are tangy and some are extremely sweet. The sweetest pineapple that I tasted were those from Candelaria, Quezon. They are small yet very sweet and each piece is good for only one person.

Pineapples are rich in Vitamins B1, B2, and C. They are also loaded with calcium, potassium, copper, manganese, dietary fiber, and a group of sulfur-containing enzymes called bromelain. Bromelain aids in digestion. It also helps to loosen phlegm and suppress cough. Thus it is best for those with respiratory tract infection and those suffering from pain because it also has anti-inflammatory property. Its vitamin C content aids to strengthen the immune system. It is responsible for the prevention of certain conditions and also reduces their severity.

As you can see there are lots of health benefits that can be derived from pineapple. Why don't you incorporate them in your daily diet and feel the difference in your life? If you crave for something to eat to make you feel filled, fruits are best. What's great for pineapple is that the benefits are best achieved when taken in between meals.
